ENEC 481. (Undergraduate, Environment, Ecology, and Energy Program) Energy Economics
This course develops a core set of principles to understand and evaluate energy markets, policies, and regulations. Topics include oil markets, electric vehicles and CAFE standards, pollution permit markets and C02 regulations, and electricity markets.
Prerequisites: ECON 101.
ECON 455. (Undergraduate, Department of Economics) Environmental Economic Theory
This course provides an economic theoretical analysis of environmental issues, with particular emphasis on the problem of designing appropriate institutions and regulations under private information and the interaction between economic and ecological systems. Topics include emission fees and marketable permits, pollution models, carbon regulation, and ecosystem service markets.
Prerequisites: ECON 400 and 410; a grade of C or better in ECON 400 and 410 is required.
